Joseph E. Mudd is Of Counsel in our Irvine office and is a member of our Business Transactions and Tax Planning Department. He specializes in corporate and business transactions with emphasis in the area of Taxation and Tax Controversy. Mr. Mudd has extensive experience in tax audits, appeals and tax litigation, as well as tax planning. From 1987-1990 he served as Senior IRS counsel. He applies this tax controversy experience in all areas of business planning for his clients. Mr. Mudd has successfully represented clients in tax disputes in which the IRS asserted liability of up to $120,000,000.
With 15 continuous years of receiving an AV peer rating, Mr. Mudd is one of only 5% of the country's lawyers achieving that distinction.
