Peter E. Kim

Peter E. Kim is a member of the Real Estate Department in the Freeman Freeman and Smiley Century City office.

Skilled negotiator

As Senior Counsel Mr. Kim’s practice focuses on commercial leasing, in addition to the acquisition and disposition of properties. He represents private and institutional investors and other owners of real property as well as tenants, across a range of asset types, including office, retail and industrial.

When it comes to lease negotiations and drafting of contracts, Mr. Kim brings to bear his experience as counsel to a broad range of companies. With respect to tenant lease representation, he excels at understanding the operational needs of his clients, ensuring that they are able to run their businesses as desired.

In negotiating purchases and sales, his priority is to uncover and deal with the potential issues his clients should focus on in order to make the right business decisions.

Representative Clients and Matters

Represented the seller of a mixed-use office and retail center in the separate sales of the office parcel and the retail parcel to different buyers, for a total of $80 million, which involved the drafting and negotiating of a Reciprocal Easement Agreement.

Represented the borrower in the expedited refinance of a $68 million loan secured by multi-family properties in San Diego and Sacramento.

Represented the buyer of an environmentally compromised rail yard located in an area which had be zoned and used as heavy industrial for the better part of a century.

Represented a tenant of warehouse space in the negotiation and drafting of more than 20 separate leases, nationwide.
